Dottie LeClair greet JDRF Walkers with Message of Hope
Dottie LeClair, Democratic candidate for the 8th Congressional District, greeted walkers at the annual Walk for A Cure of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) in Green Bay. Dottie presented the walkers and supporters with a message of hope for federal funding and oversight of stem cell research, the most promising answer for a cure to the scourge of Juvenile Diabetes.
Republican Mark Green opposes federal funding for stem cell research, and also has “problems” with the research itself, whether done publicly or privately. (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, July 29, 2001.)
Unlike her opponent, Dottie believes that stem cell research is vitally important to finding the cure for diseases like Juvenile Diabetes and cancer. She believes that this research can be done ethically, and should be funded with oversight by the Federal Government.
