1. Good for him! Rogers is playing well also and he might be in GB 10 years from now
while Favre never would.

2. But not a good reason to dump Favre or criticize him
for still wanting to play.

I'm a Packer fan but I'm also a Favre fan. Without him it would had been questionable that the Packers would had won a Super Bowl in 1997. Or even had made the play-offs.

If Favre makes it to the Super Bowl with the Vikings all power to him. I hope he does win it. Provided the Packers lose the chance to do so. I think the Packers will probably be all banged up by the play-offs.

3. Nobody "dumped" Favre.
He quit. The "Packers dumped Favre" mime is the greatest fallacy that came out of that entire crap-fest. The simple truth is that Favre didn't like playing in Green Bay anymore; he didn't like Thompson nor McCarthy (mainly because McCarthy actually made him participate in the mini-camps and pre-season training he hates so much), and he wanted to move on to someplace else.

Favre has become an expert at lying to the media so he gets what he wants. This past off-season, he did the same thing, stating he wasn't going to return to play for the Vikings. Anybody that buys the BS story he tells now about how he ended up "changing his mind because of his daughter," which just happened to coincide with him getting to miss most of the pre-season training camps, and completely ignores the pre-planing the Vikings organization did for his arival, is about as gullible as can be (and I have some swamp land that might interest them).

Favre is having an amazing season, I'll grant him that. But he's sold his integrity down the river in order to do so the way he did it. I still love the guy and what he did for the Packers, and I think all will be forgiven and forgotten in time (assuming the Favre family can stop bad-mouthing the Packers every chance they get), but I think that Rodgers has proven McCarthy and Thompson right in not selling HIM down the river.

19. Just before the last packers/vikings game.
I listen to a lot of sports radio and was listening to them discuss this very topic, including various quotes from over the past couple of years from the Favre family. To his credit, Brett has not participated in this.

4. I'd love to see that happen.
But after watching the Saints take apart the Patriots last night, they're gonna be really, really hard to beat.
It was nice to see McKenzie and Sharper playing so well, too. Those ex-Packers are really something. :)

8. Never Thought I'd Say This, Ever . . .
Edited on Tue Dec-01-09 06:55 PM by Dinger
Fuck favre. That asshole will fold like a cheap suit the minute he has to play a real team in real weather, not fake like in the humpty dump. Looking at their schedule, any team worth their salt plays at minny, and the only cold weather he has to play in will be against the Bears in December. It seems, looking at the schedule, if there is a halfway decent team, they play at the dump. And nobody here can convince me the "officials" haven't been kissing some viking ass all year. Fuck them all!

11. Know when the chip on my shoulder for him began?
I, like you (if I am recalling correctly), froze my ASS off at Lambeau in January of 2008 and stayed into overtime despite not being able to feel my toes. It was an atrocious game and the ONLY redeemer of that game is that I told myself that I watched Favre play his last game ever. When he started to discuss coming back, I was OK... but when I heard he was talking to Viking before the '08 season, I got pissed at him. And have stayed pissed.

I have a life-size stand-up of him that we play colorforms with.

Here he is with a Benedict Arnold hat:

And with a tiara and purse:

:) and :hi:
