So we have tried SHARE
a month or two ago there was some questions about SHARE

What is SHARE
(from their newsleter) SHARE is a nonporfit food buying club that offers good nutritious products at reduced cost throught a volunteer-run, community based distribution system.

It is all over the state
website is www.sharewi.org
or 1-800-548-2124

share has been around for a long time.
Many years ago my mom helped coordinate it at her local church.
it ran well for a while and then slowly ran out of volunteers. At the time
there was a stringent volunteer requirement. The volunteer requirement seems to have disappeared.

You send a check to the site early in the month for either 15 or 25 bucks.
A couple weeks latter you pick up your box of food at your local distribuiton site.

For $25 we got
chicken drumstick-maybe a pound, pound and a half?
ground beef patties-4 quarter pounders
chicken breast fillets-I think 1 lb-boneless,skinless
deli sliced ham-maybe 1 lb lunch meat
frozen mac and cheese entree- couple pound storebrand box
pork tenderloin
pork sausage link-maybe 1/2 lb thing
1box organic rice crispy like cereal
1 can diced tomatoes
l lb rotini pasta
4-5 potatoes, 5 apples, 4-5 oranges, small head lettuce,
couple tommatoes, 1 mango, and small head of cauliflower.

Quality seems grocery store quality
I was rather pleased and my mom was very pleased.
First time she ever ate a mango.
She is 88 years old and is pretty independent.
But her diet has reduced over time to not much variety.
I think SHARE will add to that variety by bringing
stuff she would not think of buying into her house.
Each month what is in the box changes.
Sort of a monthly adventure....

They say 50 bucks of food for 25 bucks.
I think i would tend to agree.
I (we) plan to continue to use it.

Questions?? i will answer if i can

1. 2nd month trying SHARE
folks--if you are broke this is a good deal.

The diversity of the food is good.
The quality is good
The price is good.

I anticipate that we will continue to use share for some time....
