A way to help pets and their owners during the bad economy

Givng People Temporary Solutions and Help (Wisc)

Because of the sad stories I have read on here and just the general dismal state of the economy my friends and I have started Truffel's Refuge. What we are attempting to do is to take names and information from people willing to take in other people's pets on a temporary basis. To help those who are homeless, who will be without a home where they can take their animals, or who at this time can not afford to feed their animals, in these cases we would help to supply them with food to keep their animals with them and not in some rescue.

There are of course guidelines on both sides, for anyone looking for a temporary home, or for those wanting to give a warm place to a animal on a temporary basis. We will help to the match the animals with family's. All animals that need temporary shelter will need to be UTD shots, and over all healthy. Family's that agree to take animals in would be agreeing to house indoors and feed and seek medical attention at their own cost. We have received some donations and when available would help to pay for medical costs, but anyone volunteering to help would go into this knowing expenses would for the most part be covered by them. I just think the more animals we can keep from being ' dumped' taken to shelters or abandoned the better. It is a hard time for everyone out there and if we can help others we can know we did our best to make someone's life a little easier in trying times.
