Same old same old as two years ago it looks.

Allegations of hazing, alcohol abuse, and sexual misconduct.

Leckrone, the band leader said it was only a few but it warranted a whole band suspension in his mind.

I think that's horseshit. If 5 players of a 60 player football team get into trouble, you dont suspend the entire team, just the players who were involved. His actions appear just as selfish where he thinks hes doing the right thing, but doesnt realize just how important the band is to the school.

1. Jeez, that sucks.
I'm a Madison alumnus (BS, MS, PhD), so this is especially sad for me.

3. Two years ago they had only half the band for one game
It was the Homecoming game against Minnesota. They should be there at partial strength rather than totally suspended, they did add to the Camp Randall atmosphere.

University of Wisconsin officials are interviewing members of the UW Marching Band one at a time today as part of their investigation into allegations of hazing, officials said.

Staffers in the UW-Madison dean of students' office began meeting last night with each of the 300-plus members of the band, and the interviews are continuing today, UW-Madison spokeswoman Amy Toburen said.

"They're trying to do it as quickly as possible to get to a resolution," Toburen said. "Hopefully it can be a resolution that can bring the band back."

Officials announced Friday that the entire band was suspended from performing in a game for the first time in 40 years. The suspension will continue until the university completes its investigation.
