Re: Tanker incident in Marinette County
Some of you may have heard of this on the radio or TV.

I'm just checking in to let everyone know that I am nowhere near the incident in question. This incident is about 35 miles from where I am.

1. Been out of the loop myself.
Glad to hear you're all right, though. Thanks for checking in.

BTW, your link didn't bring anything up for me but a basic "seek shelter" page.

TOWN OF AMBERG — A tanker truck and car collided Friday on U.S. 141 in Marinette County, killing the driver of the car and forcing a hazardous materials alert because of uncertainty about the tanker's cargo.

The accident happened at 12:15 p.m. in the town of Amberg. Officials believed the truck, owned by Langer Transportation, was carrying methanol, a highly flammable and poisonous liquid, but Marinette County Emergency Management later confirmed only traces were found in the tanker.

Marinette County Sheriff's Department Chief Deputy Jerry Sauve said a person in the car was killed in the accident occurring at U.S. 141 and Town Corner Lake Road near Amberg. The truck driver was transported to Dickinson Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain, Mich., for treatment. Both were alone in their vehicles.
