I can't believe there's advertising you have to watch before emergency weather information.

8. I use weatherunderground.com

and spc.noaa.gov, mostly. You don't have to watch ads before you get to see radar at WU, and there are no ads on NOAA's site. I love WU's radar, you can overlay the lightning detection data over the radar picture.

And damn these were fierce storms! I was coming back to Madison from the Milwaukee area, I had to stop in Oconomowoc. When I left there I drove right past a wall cloud that was suspected of having spit out a few tornadoes. I watched it a little (as did a spotter or other weatherhound that had pulled off) but didn't see a funnel, so I drove off. I should have at least gotten a shot of the wall cloud...I had Mr. Nikon armed and ready.

I'm up north with Dangerously Amused and we've had storms, but nothing like MKE and Waukesha saw.
