Second Annual Elmbrook Democrats Cookout!
We had such a good time last year, and there were so few casualties, we decided to do it again. The location is the same as last year (my place - PM me for directions).

The Details:

Elmbrook Democrats Cookout
Saturday, June 21; 4:30 p.m. till ???
1430 Revere Drive; Brookfield

Brats (veggies burgers) and drinks are provided.

Last Name A-M bring a side dish
Last Name N-Z bring a dessert

RSVP if you can, but we always buy too much, so don't let that keep you away. We're indoors in the event of rain, so don't let the weather keep you away either.

But...but...I don't live in Brookfield! Eh, it's not like we're checking ID's. We have people coming from Racine, Cedarburg, Milwaukee and Waukesha. If you're a Democrat, you're welcome!

3. You should ask Russ to reschedule his listening event to your party

4. I think you have to schedule Russ about a year in advance...
That's not a bad thing, I really admire his travel schedule and how he gets out there to meet the voters on an ongoing basis. But "short notice" isn't in his schedulers' vocabulary!

But the big question. The one that EVERYBODY wants answered is: Will Connonym be attending? Hmmm?

Let Russ plan his own parties! My "staff" consists of my 14-year-old daughter!

Why has everyone in town scheduled everything for that weekend? I'm gonna be in Minneapolis!

Our big work picnic is that day too!

I'll have to try for next year. :-(

15. Big thanks to Jeff for hosting the picnic!
I think Dembotz and I were the only other DUers there but it was great to meet so many other liberals. Funny because so many of them expressed what I've been feeling for a long time -- it's really hard to live in an overwhelmingly conservative area and so nice to be in a group of liberals where you can feel free to really express yourself.

Thanks Jeff :) I'm hoping that we can all try to do a DU picnic this summer -- especially so we can welcome FudgeStripe and LizzieGrace to the area but also because we're such an excellent group of people and fun to be around :-D

19. I didn't mean that you had to host it
not that there would be anything wrong with that! but I was thinking a picnic in a park somewhere. I wasn't trying to pressure you into more hospitality :)

16. living the high life
there is currently a Miller ad on the radio where people call in to see if they are Living the High Life.
Well lets see....
A Lots of Miller and other products in the cooler.
B Great food and lots of it.
C Getting to hang our with a couple of fine local du'ers and some other very strong dems.

Yep, living the high life.
And i do not need to call into some radio show to understand that.

To Jeff in Milwaukee.
Thank you for the invite. It was a wonderful night.

17. Pictures!
I must say, my teenaged daughter is quite possibly the worst photographer in history (or at least since her grandmother) -- I've got some lovely butt shots that I will be happy to destroy...for a price.
