PACKER BACKERS FOR KERRY!!
This is an idea from a Chicago friend. Told he couldn't campaign in Wisconsin on a Sunday afternoon -- "Because the Packer game is on" -- he went out and bought a Packers wardrobe, threw in a handful of Kerry buttons, gathered up a couple of friends, and headed out to the Wisconsin bars to watch the game and toast John Kerry at halftime!

This is the heart of virtual Bush* country, folks!! The Pack is religion here. And my friend tells me he makes lots of conversions this way. Keeps stickers and buttons in his pocket for the folks who inevitably come up and say they're thinking of voting Kerry. Spread the word, Packer fans! Wear your Kerry gear to your favorite watering hole tonight!!

2. FYI - Did you catch the Snopes article on upcoming Packers-Redskins game?
Claim: The outcome of Washington Redskins football games has correctly predicted the winner of every U.S. presidential election since 1936.

Status: True.

Packers MUST win October 31st against Redskins!

8. Repugs are so torn by this! There are quite a few that are willing to
accept, and actually desperately want, a Packer's defeat. HA!!! The true loyalty test!

4. Tomorrow's game day! Some words of wisdom from Bob, the football activist:
Fall is Football season – pro, college, high school, grade school

You’re gonna watch the game anyway, why not make it a Kerry event!

Get your sports buddies together at a bar and wear your Kerry buttons.

Watch the game – cheer, root and have fun!

You get to watch the game and score points with your sweetie: “Dear, it’s for a really important reason. Protecting our country, Giving our Troops a smart Commander, saving our Children, building a better economy, healthcare, and the environment.”

Why meet at a bar?

1. Show visibility
2. Gain their trust – people trust others who share their enthusiasms
3. Create camaraderie

2 of you is good enough, 4 is better, more is Awesome! You make an impact just walking in and having a beer.

You don't have to be Full-On fan. Hey, lots of people who don't follow football got to Super Bowl parties.

Be friendly. Give a toast or two for Kerry during commercials. Buy a patron a beer, if moved to do so. Schmooze with the owner - you never know, they might be willing to put a Kerry window sign up.

Don’t preach- don't initiate politics – unless you are comfortable in that bar

Listen to folks if they bring up Kerry. If people ask for stickers or buttons, oblige them. A bar full of people with Kerry stickers & buttons on would be a beautiful thing

Don't argue politics. Bars are too volatile a place to do that, and it won't help the cause.

“Hey, I'm here to watch the game.”

If someone tries to bait you into a stupid argument, a simple answer is "Hey, I'm here to watch the game.” Or use Harry Truman's line "If you want to live like the Republicans, then you better vote for the Democrat." This always gets a laugh, even from Right Wingers. Variation – “I wanna live like the Republicans, that’s why I vote for Democrats.”

5. C'mon Cheeseheads - this is another fine political movement born...
...in Wisconsin! You know you're going to watch the game anyway, as Bob says above.
