The Sign Elves Visited

I already had my Vets for Kerry/Edwards sign on the lawn but this afternoon when I went out to check the mail there were FIVE signs in my yard: Feingold, Vruwink (Assembly), Lassa (State Senate) and Dave Obey (Congress). There was a note in the mailbox on "the care and feeding of campaign signs.......

The local Dems know me so I'm not upset....but quite surprised.

you should put up a new sign that says, "Stealing my Kerry sign, will not help Bush steal this election."

Another DUer did just that, and I think that it may work.

I haven't put any signs up because of my rural, middle of nowhere location. I'm waiting to see if there are any left when those with better visibility have had first dibs.

5. Opposite here in Meno Falls!

We had a sign up last Wednesday, gone by Friday.

Saturday around noon we went downtown (Milwaukee) to Feingold, Kennedy (office was closed even tho' phone call said they'd be open) and Kerry/Edwards campaign offices and picked up 3 Kerry/ 3 Feingold signs. Sunday evening our daughter who also lives in Meno Falls called and said her signs were taken from her yard (and she lives 1 block from police station). We got up this morning and the signs were all gone.

So we went down to Kerry/Edwards HQ on Wisconsin Avenue late this afternoon and they had no signs left!.

We came home and made our own like the ones we saw here on the DU - Stealing Kerry Signs Will Not Help Bush Steal THIS Election and Losers Steal Kerry Signs. Just got in from pounding them in ground - wonder if they will be there in morning.

Since many Kerry signs in Wausau were taken over the weekend we were instructed to take the signs in at night.

told us to beware of the high school homecoming dates because signs like to disappear or get TP'd at that time. Said if sign was damaged or weathered too bad to call for a replacement. Said the signs would be picked up on Nov 3 and will be stored and reused.
