Just got a telephone poll identified as being from the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. Only two questions:

President? Kerry or Bush?
Senator? Michaels of Feingold?

Interesting.

1. What did you say?

When I make those calls, we are supposed to gauge the person's answer.

If you immediately say Kerry and Feingold, you are a "1" And we are supposed to ask you if you want an absentee ballot

If you hem and haw at all, but then say you are either for Bush, Kerry or undecided, you are a 2, 3, or 4. In the identification phase, we were to ask what issue was important to you.

If you immediately say "George W. Bush!" we say "thank you for your time" and hang up.

That was during the identification phase. Right now we are supposed to be in the persuasion phase. So if you were an adamant Kerry supporter they probably figured you didn't need persuading. Did they offer you a ballot application?

2. That's what is so strange

The phone baning I've done asks for a rating from 1 - 5. Here they just asked for a name......of course, I gave Kerry and Feingold.

3. We were told not to ask for numbers, just gauge the answers

by how they answered and put our own number on it. That's how we did it in Milwaukee.
