Grocery Strike Question
With everything else going on I haven't paid much attention to local news lately. Does anyone know if the Union has set a final date to begin strike. I know Safeway, QFC, Albertsons, Fred Meyer are involved. Are any other stores likely to be impacted?

1. Where are you located?
Safeway and Albertsons recently settled a strike in southern California, so I know you can't be talking about that area.

3. Sorry, I didn't notice what forum
I hang out in the Latest Threads area and don't even look at the forum.

There's a story in Late Breaking News about an arrest at one of the stores.

It seems the strike has already started.

5. Rally for health benefits becomes street confrontation
It was just a rally in support of the grocery clerks, right? Just a few speeches, a show of support, promises to stand firm, and we're done, right? Wrong.

When the dust had cleared, a veteran labor leader had been hauled off in handcuffs, union supporters had marched on the police station, and everyone concerned, including the press, the police, and Safeway management, was wondering what had made it all necessary.

My understanding is that the current contract has been extended 90 days to allow for ongoing negotiations.

6. From what i understand
the only non striking store to shop at in the south end, Auburn, Buckley, Sumner and Bonney Lake will be the top foods up the hill from the new auburn high school.

7. I do all my grocery shopping at the Central food co-op...
unless I'm out of town. My friend in Port Orchard will have a rough time finding another grocery source if/when this strike starts.
