Greets DUers,
As you may have heard, the Gregoire campaign has been contacting voters whose ballots may not be counted due to technical problems. This race is very close, and the effort to contact voters will be the deciding factor.
The opportunity to contact voters expires Tuesday at 5pm. But until then, you can make a real difference. Canvassers are needed. Canvassing groups will need a car in order to get to and from the neighborhoods they will be visiting.
The most important time to volunteer for this is now. We are down to the point that every volunteer-hour counts. Hopefully, a few hunderd people in Seattle will check in here before church, and some more at lunch. :)
I canvassed today, and I have to say it was very rewarding to be able to help people who had, in many cases, already bent over backward in order to file their legal vote. I felt proud of our State Party Organization for putting this effort together. And I did feel some hope for the future of our state.
I saw the canvassing maps and there were plenty of choice neighborhoods like Capitol Hill, Wallingford, Covington, Madrona...
If you are able to canvas in King County: Meet at 10am or 2pm at the Aerospace Machinist's Hall in West Seattle.
To get there from I-5, take the Michigan Exit to 4th Ave S.
Take 4th Ave S. Southbound until it intercepts E. Marginal Way and turn left.
Take E. Marginal Way Southbound until you reach the "Sand Point" bridge to W. Seattle. Turn right.
Go over the bridge, about 1/4 mile, through a stop light, and turn left just before the median begins and more lanes start. There is a sign to the left reading 'Aerospace Machinist's'. Turn left here.
See you later today!
