Ask the governor to avoid cuts to health care
Message from Healthy Washington--

We need you to take action now! The cuts to health care that have been announced are absolutely devastating. Please take a moment to take action and forward on to your networks.

We need your help! We need to flood the offices of Governor, the Senate Majority Leader Brown and Speaker of the House Chopp with emails urging them to reverse the devastating cuts to health care.

The Governor has announced that more than $120 million will be cut from health care funding this year due to the continuing economic recession which has left the state with a $520 million budget shortfall. Hundreds of thousands of low-income Washingtonians will lose access to health care services, including some who will lose their insurance coverage altogether.

Yesterday, we officially learned that the following programs are on the list to be cut: adult dental care; maternity support services for women with high risk pregnancies; mental health and medical services for those with disabilities; children’s health coverage; hearing and vision services; hospice care; and interpreter services.
