I just got back from the local VA Beach Obama headquarters...

and was lucky enough to catch both Governor Kaine and Glen Nye speaking to the volunteers. I just stopped by to pick up some signs and stickers and lucked out in time to see both of them. They spoke for about 20 minutes, with a News crew from one station there. The people are pumped and ready to work to get Obama to the White House. I worked for Kerry in 2004 and I don't remember ever seeing this much excitement. Amazing!!

There are less jobs now they are just blasting the mountain top off to gouge out the coal, there's no such thing as clean coal. Hell, the coal companies come in here and decapitate our mountains then file bankruptcy so they aren't going to be held liable for the toxic mess they leave behind.

Wise County, Virginia is becoming a moonscape with toxic land and water. I hope uncle Fester, who is supposed to be in this area tomorrow will bring up coal and what's called an area with a "redneck kind of mentality".

2. I got a strange robocall ....

I live in Roanoke VA, and I found this robocall on my answering machine. I thought I would LMAO!!!!!

3. Lexington was a breeze this morning.

There were I think eight machines and all of them seemed to be working at 8:00 am. The line was moving really fast, and poll workers were everywhere. According to an acquaintance in line the Obama team had to turn away volunteers here. This tiny city seems to be doing its best to cancel out Rockbridge County.
