In Eric Cantor's District? Come help make sure we have a dem candidate -
I received this tonight - hope to see people there on Saturday...

HELP INSURE THAT BRAD BLANTON IS OUR CANDIDATE AGAINST CANTOR IN NOVEMBER!!!

WHAT: 7th Congressional Democratic Party District Caucus which will select Brad Blanton to oppose Eric Cantor in November, or it will vote for NO CANDIDATE and not run anyone! HELP MAKE SURE THEY CHOOSE BRAD

WHEN: This Saturday, May 13, 12:00 noon

WHERE: Deep Run High School, 4801 Twin Hickory Road, Richmond (actually Glen Allen, just north of Richmond (Directions: Location is just north of the intersection of I295 and I64. From either road, get on to I 64 and get off at the exit immediately beyond (south) of the exit for I295, which is Route 250, take it West less than a mile to Pump Rd/Route 271, take a right (north) on 271 for less than a mile, to Twin Hickory Lake Dr., take a right on this road for less than a mile to the High School, at the intersection of Old School Rd.--this is really very accessible, no need to go into Richmond, it's just a short hop off the interstate).

WHY: Some delegates are committed to vote for Brad Blanton on the first ballot, but a majority are attending uncommitted. Blanton has favorably impressed virtually all Democrats, including leaders of Democratic committees, that he has had the opportunity to meet with or address, but most of the counties did not afford opportunities to really meet Brad. Their only opportunity will be this Saturday. Brad's campaign will be distributing an amazing item of campaign literature, a 20-page presentation of who he is, what kind of campaign he will run, and why he has a chance to defeat Cantor--surely the only chance that anyone in the District might have. That item is attached to this email.

THE MORE PEOPLE WHO CAN ATTEND THIS SATURDAY'S CAUCUS, VISIBLY IDENTIFIED AS SUPPORTERS OF BRAD, EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT DELEGATES, THE MORE LIKELY IT WILL BE THAT ENOUGH UNCOMMITTED DELEGATES WILL GET THE MESSAGE, SEE THE LEVEL OF SUPPORT FOR BRAD, AND DECIDE TO VOTE FOR HIM

IT DOESN'T GET ANY MORE IMPORTANT, FOLKS. A SHOW OF FORCE OF, SAY, 30 SUPPORTERS OF BLANTON SATURDAY COULD MAKE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN HAVING A WONDERFUL CANDIDATE TO BACK AGAINST THE POLITICAL PLUG-UGLY CANTOR, OR SITTING ON THE BENCH FOR THE NEXT 6 MONTHS WHILE CANTOR SAILS BACK TO WASHINGTON UNOPPOSED.

THERE REALLY ISN'T ANY MORE IMPORTANT PLACE THAT ANY OF YOU WHO LIVE IN THE 7TH AND WHO CAN POSSIBLY ATTEND THIS MEETING CAN BE AT NOON THIS SATURDAY. I know that some of you receiving this email have trouble getting out. But this could be a sit-down event for you. And I know that people have commitments that they can't change. But for those of you for whom attending would only be inconvenient, or not what you would prefer to be doing, but who could actually attend, I cannot urge you strongly enough to come down to Richmond and give Brad the visible support that might just determine whether he gets the nomination or not.

Read the attachment, and exult that we have a candidate who is putting this out, especially his opening 7-page letter to 7th District Democratic Delegates. What an opportunity to turn the heartland of Virginia blue and elect someone who will shake up Washington, including on the Democratic side, if elected, who will speak truth to power, and who will also activate the grassroots, and listen to the grassroots, like possibly no one has ever done before!

So, on behalf of Brad, I urge you all to come down to Richmond, meet others from the campaign, and show the delegates of the 7th Congressional District the depth of support that Brad enjoys. By the way, Brad's campaign collected over 1200 signatures to qualify for the ballot in just one weekend, an amazing feat, by far the fastest rate of signature gathering of any campaign or candidate in Virginia this year (far faster than Judy Feder in the 10th CD, or even Jim Webb statewide), which just goes to show his potential to mobilize people to send Cantor back home and help take back Congress from the paleo-Republicans who are destroying the country.

If you are coming, please try to come at 11:30, to be there and be seen as delegates arrive between 11:30 and 12:00. Under no conditions be later than 12:00, as the doors are closed, and not reopened for anyone who is late.

Peter Rush, for Progressive Democrats of America, and Blanton for Congress.

1. I am a big Blanton supporter
and I will be there. I do worry that Cantor's treasure chest filled with dirty money is going to purchase ads swiftboating Brad. Do you know any Dems with big pockets who want Eric out? Blanton is going to need lots of money to fight Cantor. There is no doubt he would be terrific for our District and our country and that is what must be focused on. But Eric is a Bush and Delay clone who will play as dirty as dirty can be played.
