1. Question about the Virginia Primary
Will Republicans turn out in force to select the candidate that Allen will have a better chance of defeating?

4. Republicans voting in Primary
Sure they will. They want the weakest possible candidate to win. However, moderate Republicans who are fed up with the status quo will be attracted by Webb. I think mostly the evangelicals and right wingers will do whatever they can to keep smirking George in office.

6. Unless there is a Republican primary on the same day...
Everyone registered to vote in VA is eligible to vote in any election. Last year, because we had two primaries on the same day, people had to declare if they were voting in the Democratic primary or the Republican primary. They couldn't vote in both. Even in that election, there were crossover voters who voted for the weakest candidate in the opposing party rather than voting for their favorite candidate in their own party. I know, I was one of them. I was happy with all our candidates and couldn't decide on just one.

If we have a primary and they don't, we must make sure to get out the vote, so the crossover votes don't wipe out our strongest candidate before he or she gets started.

Our candidate also needs to know what a bigot Allen is, so he can apply that info properly. Maybe a few of Allen's high school buddies would like to do a little campaign spot?

2. Right now, neither.
I need to know a lot more about each man before I can decide who I'll support. So right now I'm on the fence as they both have negatives.

3. rogue
check out www.raisingkaine.com/blog . It has a lot of articles and discussion on the primary. The author, Lowell, is definitely pro-Webb. In fact, he started www.draftjameswebb.com . Even so, there is a lot of useful information to be found there. Check it out.

p.s. I dont think its any secret who I want!

5. Thanks AlecB for the links.
I've visited raisingkaine.com for awhile now and haven't been impressed. That site is probably the reason I have a negative impression of Webb. I really want to see where Webb stands and not what RK.com feels he'll be standing on an issue.

7. As for me....
who can beat Allen? RK is a great site, in fact, Allen's voting record is "lips firmly attached to Bush's arse" Not good for Virginia, or our country :(

I also learned that Warner and Kaine officially "went neutral" after Webb threw his hat in the ring.

Of course, Webb is being slammed hard on the DU public forums too, such a shame, most of those come from people outside our state.
