HUGE WIN FOR TIM KAINE TONIGHT IN THE VA DEBATES!
Im not from Virginia, but I have been following this race very closely, and let me tell you... IM PUMPED UP!

Huge win for Kaine tonight. This guy articulates his message so well.

The highlight of the debate for me was the pledge by Tim Kaine to air positive ad's 50 percent of the time. Kilgore refused to make the same pledge. Sabato & Kaine nailed him on that point. Kaine really capitalized after that. Pointing out that he will be a Governor with a positive vision for commonwealth, while Kilgore will result to negative tactics as usual.

Great night for Time Kaine!

2. If you think thats funny you should have seen me watching the debate...

My girlfriend walked down the basement as I was pumping my fist (Tiger Woods style) to one of Kaine's awesome rebuttals. She looked at me, shook her head, and kept on walking.

:headbang: :woohoo: :patriot:

3. I get excited about politics too.
When Doyle was declared the winner of the 2002 election here I jumped out of my couch so fast I hurt myself. ;-)

4. I thought so too!
Kilgore didn't act as dopey as he did in the Russert debate, but he still came off worse than Kaine.

I just want to see Kaine's debate win reflected in the poll numbers!

As I said in another thread: I don't trust VA voters to be informed enough to vote other than party. I'm still worried.

5. C-Span re-ran the debate at 9:30 PM tonight. Will probably
re-run it again. Did y'all hear that dumbass Kilgore say, "You're no John Kennedy"? He comes off like such a dufus.

6. I agree
Tim had actual substance in his answers instead of the prepackaged crap that Jerry was spewing. Wasn't newschannel 8 supposed to air it? I thought they were but I watched it on CSPAN.

8. Kilgore didn't want to be there and he apparently didn't need to be there
He didn't say anything that wasn't a prepackaged stump speech line.

LIBERAL LIBERAL LIBERAL okay Jerry we see where you are going with that .....did you catch the "flip-flop" in there? It is like watching someone else read W's lines. Kilgore embarassed himself. Anyone still sporting a Kilgore bumpersticker this morning should be pointed at a ridiculed openly. "I support the death penalty in the Taylor Behl case" OMG! that had me howling laughing.... too funny.

I was a big Kaine supporter anyway but after that debate (there were some things that I disagree with me about) I have even more respect for Kaine. Very VERY well done.

7. I am looking at the reruns on cspan right now.
This Lt. Governor of Virginia, Tim Kaine is a cutey. In fact, the other guy is also. But Kaine is better looking. He'd get my vote....that is if I lived in Virginia.:P

9. "I support the death penalty in the Taylor Behl case"
Kilgore  oh GOD was that funny

KAine not only was much more impressive than Kilgore (thoug I disagree with Kaine on two big issues raised last night) Kilgore was a characature and embarassing. Anyone still sporting a Kilgore bumpersticker should be pointed out and ridiculed openly.

10. I missed all but the last five minutes
and I know I shouldn't be so shallow but when Jerry Kilgore said anything all I could think of was SNL's Will Forte doing W.

11. I didn't think it possible...
...but damned if Kilgore doesn't make W look like an expert practitioner of Aristotelian logic in comparison. And this guy was a prosecutor?

I about hurt something, though, when I heard this morning that Sabato said there was no clear winner last night. The hell? What part of Kilgore's insistence on giving non-answers and relying on his "blahblahblah-liberal, blahblahblah-flipflop" (which is so 2004) macro did he miss?

I fear this ==>
is in store for my state. All anyone's gonna hear is "liberal, taxes, gays, and guns," and sadly that's more than enough push Kilgore over the top here.

13. Postive campaigning doesn't necessarily mean successful campaigning
I'm rooting for Kaine, too, but a little pragmatism goes a long way.

14. My mother told me she is thinking about voting for Kaine!
This seems really significant to me, knowing my parents' points of view and voting history. I hope it's a good sign that Kaine will even better than anticipated.

15. I'm in the pretty conservative Harrisonburg area...
...and there's hardly a Kilgore sign to be seen. It's Kaine everywhere.

I'm not sure how indicative that is of how much momentum he has or if he's just got good mobilizers here, but I'm feeling the same kind of hope I felt with Warner.
