Shit. Two key endorsements go to Kilgore.
Edited on Thu Oct-06-05 09:05 PM by nickshepDEM
First, Kilgore was endorsed by the NRA and toured the state with Wayne LaPierre. This is going to hurt in rural areas.

Second, The Fairfax Chamber of Commerce, which has backed Warner, has announced they are backing Kilgore. Here's an AP article on those endorsements:

How big of an impact do you think these endorsements will make?

2. Hopefully, after Sunday's Debate
the endorsements won't matter. Perhaps the people watching will see just what Kilgore is.

4. I did read that the NRA endorsed Creigh Deeds, which surprised me.
NRA endorsing a Dem? I hate the NRA for what it's worth.

10. Yeah,
they'll endorse Dems if they walk lockstep with them. They did it for the Dem in that 2002 AL Gov race.

5. Kilgore will not allow any footage from the debates to be used
in campaign ads? So if he's so great, why is he trying to stifle his idiotic answers to questions or comments he makes? I certainly hope he doesn't win. I have seen more Kaine signs that I have Kilgore. Hopefully, people around here are waking up to the lies that he and his family are telling the people of VA and are recognizing that Warner has done a good job for our state..

6. Not much I don't think...
Especially the Fairfax Chamber (which I am about to join...hrrrmpphh). Kaine is headed to a typical showing for a Democrat in VA in rural areas where guns are THE issue.

It all depends on Northern Virginia where Kaine is likely to have a huge lead. Kilgore is trying hard to push hot-button issues up here to try and peel some of that away. He is such a dolt though that I think it is backfiring.

It will be close!

7. I don't think it'll have too much impact
The NRA thing is going to hurt but we already knew that they were never going to endorse Kaine anyway. The Fairfax chamber of commerce isn't incredibly powerful. Hopefully, Kaine can still make it.

8. Kaine *USED TO* have the NRA's highest rating
as the result of Prokect Exile. How could that have changed?

I assume they just changed their rating and hoped no one noticed.

11. NRA
He got on the NRA's shit list when he bussed the Million Mom March to Washington while he was Richmound's mayor.

The "MMM" is a fast way to anger a VERY LARGE contingent of voters in this state, with a quickness

They add NOTHING to the campaign, and add a boat anchor for the Republicans to use against him.

It has already been used in ads, very effective.

In Virginia, your FIRST vote for gun control, may very well be your LAST vote. Just ask Mary Sue Terry, about the effects of her support for gun control, and the effects on voters.

9. Did the NRA endorse Warner?
I know here in the South Hampton Roads area they're running Kilgore "good ole boy" ads AND Kaine is a LIBERAL. Plays right to the, well, RIGHT.

Wonder if we should get DU involved ? This is a litmus test for BushCo, keeping a Blue gov in a Red state would a good sign for things to come for Dems in '06 and '08.

12. NRA on Warner
the NRA stayed NEUTRAL, in his election, and his tenure has been a very good one for gun owners, lots of good things for the 2nd Amendment have been happening during his reign!

13. But at least one has left Jerry in lurch
http://www.roanoke.com/politics/wb/37314"> R.J. Kirk Big GOP Contributor and former Kilgore Supporter...now supporting Tim Kaine!!!

http://www.roanoke.com/politics/wb/37314

One-hundred thousand dollars an hour.

Not a bad wage for two one-hour sit-downs with Radford millionaire R.J. Kirk.

That's what Democratic nominee for governor Tim Kaine received for his campaign in return for meeting earlier this year with the president of New River Pharmaceuticals.

He certainly got a better return on his time than Republican nominee Jerry Kilgore. The attorney general, whom Kirk supported in his 2001 run for the office, also met with Kirk twice to discuss issues and lay out his visions for the state. He received nothing this time around.

14. Did you expect it to be easy going up against a republican corporate...
machine of filthy rich good old boys...And what about their other machines?

Republican owned voting machines, will steal votes where needed in precincts here and there?
