VA Gov race: RNC to use national resources in 'Super Saturday' 9/24
Thought it might be helpful for my Democratic
friends in Virginia to have a heads-up on this....
(Here's their organization and resources page

September 20, 2005

Dear _______,

There is a very important gubernatorial campaign that needs your help now.
The campaign of Jerry Kilgore in Virginia is approaching the finish line, and appears to be very, very close. I know Jerry personally, and he is a good man who will make a terrific Republican governor.

The success of the Kilgore campaign isn't just important to residents of Virginia. Helping Jerry win in November is important to Republicans across America.

That's why we've organized a "Super Saturday" on September 24th, a day on which Republicans from all around the country will join together and make volunteer phone calls on behalf of Jerry's campaign.

It's simple to help. We're asking you to make just 30 phone calls. Your phone calls to Republican voters in Virginia will remind them of the upcoming election, and the importance of voting for Jerry. If you agree to help, you'll be sent a short call list, a script and detailed instructions - everything you need to lend your needed support to Jerry (if you own a cellular phone, most services allow for unlimited weekend minutes, so the calls will be free). Just click here to participate.

Our party is like a family. And when a family member like Jerry needs our help, we all pitch in. Virginia sent busloads of volunteers to battleground states to help elect Republicans in 2004 and we need to return the favor in 2005.

As we all know, your grassroots efforts worked last year for President Bush, and they will work again this year for Jerry. Please join me on Super Saturday, September 24th as we provide the Kilgore campaign the grassroots support that will help lead them to victory for our Party.

Ken Mehlman
Chairman, Republican National Committee

P.S. - I hope I can count on your help on September 24th. Click Here to get your list of calls for Super Saturday.

2. You have to register for the link to work?
Rats:

Scary, too, the word "empowered" makes me nervous :(

3. It's worth it
I joined because I like to know what they're planning,
and have the ability to talk 'their language' when traveling
behind enemy lines. During last year's campaigns their emails told me ahead of time what lies my canvassers and phone bankers needed to be countering.
