Rick Boucher, D-VA

I'm watching floor debate of S5 on CSPAN - http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=104x3128708

Boucher just spoke in FAVOR of this travesty, and spoke of Sensenbrenner with glowing accolades. Conyers reclaimed his time and rebuked this jerk.

Now he's up again, giving a speech in CONJUNCTION with Sensenbrenner!

What's up with this DINO?

1. Boucher can be very conservative at times
I don't know where he stqnds on this issue, but anytime I have emailed him disagreeing with him, he sends lengthy letters explaining his rationale. Furthermore, we're just glad to get a Dem elected in our neck of the woods and he takes good care of his constituents if they have a problem.

2. I am a very liberal guy and i dont always agree with congressman
Boucher but we are lucky he is there anyway it could be a lot worse. And he has helped our area a hell of a lot since he was elected first. I may not agree with him always but the things he has done for my family and his constituency are enough for me to vote for him till he retires!

3. Rick Boucher
Rick Boucher is just an example of a Virginia Democrat who
leans Republican. The state is full of them, including the
governor.
The Republican-leaning Democrats in the state either believe
the baloney they say or they moderate their views so they can
get re-elected. Virginia currently has a governor who allows
executions and caters to the right-wing business interests in
the state because he is under the illusion that he's going to
run for president. Most of the Democratic representaives in
Virginia who are quasi-liberal represent districts in northern
Virginia, where liberals stand a chance of getting elected.

4. He has earned the loyalty of his constituents
regardless of his leanings.

6. I'm not familiar with Boucher
but in much of Virginia a real liberal cannot get elected, so we try to keep as many of the moderates as we can.

At least they're better than the horses' asses on the other side.
