Hispanic Republican Caucus: Hispanic voters un-winnable
http://www.newstaco.com/2011/12/07/the-hispanic-republican-caucus-latino-voters-unwinnable/

To put it another way — the guy Republicans put in charge of Hispanic outreach, when faced with a heavily Hispanic district, opted to quit saying the district was “unwinnable by me or any Republican candidate”. In evaluating the success of the HRC in making the Republican Party palatable to Hispanics — “unwinnable by any Republican candidate” tells you all you need to know.

1. We shall overcome
Like they didn't know what they were doing? Texas repukes are just short sighted stupid idiot planners. They have backed themselves into a corner where they have no future. They're still going to do a lot of damage in the near future, but that Latino wave is coming. And it will slap them up side of their head and kick them all the hell out of office. I just hope I live to see the day - To quote from a famous civil rights song:

"We Shall Overcome"
We shall overcome, we shall overcome,
We shall overcome someday;
Oh, deep in my heart, I do believe,
We shall overcome someday.

2. What Goes Around Comes Around
What goes around comes around. Republicans just can't resist practicing xenophobia and race-baiting within their ranks and practicing dog-whistle code words and the politics of division in general elections. The corporate media and clueless white-bread and fresh-off-the-boat voters might miss the racial sub-texts, but most of us can read the underlying code just fine.

The right-wing Republicans are continuing the politics of race from their parents. The notion that their victims might find the politics and practice of name-calling, race-baiting and division offensive seems to have sailed right over their heads. That the majorities of their former victims get angry at the nastiness is an idea that just hasn't occurred to them.

It is my fervent hope that the majority of eligible citizens register to vote and give the Tea-publicans a long overdue civics lesson as to why the politics of exclusion is ugly and un-American. Perhaps a sojourn on the sidelines as long as the Israelites' journey through the Wilderness might be long enough for some of the younger Tea-publicans to wise up (Assuming that's even possible).

3. God! All we need is for them to go underground only to
reappear claiming that they are like Moses leading their flock to the promised land - of course, with them out of the way for 4o years or so this just might be a land of milk and homey (sorry vegans, its just a metaphor) :shrug:

4. Or They'll Seem As Irrelevant As The Sons Of the Confederacy
Or if things turn for the better, the remaining Rethuglies will seem as irrelevant as The Sons of The Confederacy or folks campaigning for the divine right of kings or the re-establishment of the Spanish Empire. <grin>
