"Dear Austinites,
We invite all of you to join our brothers and sisters in New York and around the World for a Solidarity March this Saturday at 11:30am. This march is about making government accountable to the American people rather than a small group of corporations and financial institutions. If you believe in democracy by and for the people, please join us.
We will meet at City Hall at 11:30am. At NOON we will march down march up Lavaca to 6th, stop at JP Morgan Chase, continue down Congress to The Capitol, and then return to City Hall down Congress Ave. When we return to City Hall we will have a rally, complete with speakers, music, and more!
October 15th is marked to be the largest demonstration on Wall Street, and is set to be a global day of Occupation. Let's stand up and let our voices unite. No matter where you live, we are all the 99%.
~ Bring ~
Yourself and Others Like You, Music, Noisemakers, and water - marching can make you thirsty.
~ Wear ~
White. As dramatic as possible. In many cultures dressing in white is a symbol of hope and transition. Think: white suits, dresses, face-paint, glitter, balloons, banners - be inspired.
**WEARING WHITE IS OPTIONAL**but NYC is wearing white for their 10/15 rally, so it's in solidarity, and it will make a powerful statement."
