Texas biomass plant could produce power by May
LUFKIN, TX -- The head of an East Texas biomass plant says the unit could begin producing power this spring by converting logging debris into electricity.

Aspen Power president Danny Vines says the plant in Lufkin is expected to do its first burning during the final commission phase scheduled for May.

Well, I guess the smell of the Piney Woods burning is better than acid rain from coal, but I don't know what the long-term effects will be. I'm not up on biomass burning so much as wind and solar.

1. Cattle Feed Lots Could Be A Source Of Methane Gas
Cattle feed lots could be a fine source of methane gas. Anybody who has driven past one can smell all that biomass currently going to waste. Anyone with half an imagination can imagine what could happen to the local water supply if residue from the cattle waste worked its way into the water table.
