White Beats Perry In Fundraising Numbers
Burnt Orange Report 7/15/10
Early Word: White Beats Perry In Fundraising Numbers

The numbers are out, and Bill White has bested Rick Perry in money raised on this report, number of donors, and cash on hand.

(snip)

Now, to be fair, Rick Perry has raised a total of $20M since he began raising money back in 2006. Bill White, however, has managed to rake in $16.6 million just since December 4, 2009.

You need to go to the diary to see the nice chart.

Congratulations Bill White! Keep it going!

1. White and Perry raise about $7 million each, White has more on hand
Postcards from the Lege blog 7/15/10
White and Perry raise about $7 million each, White has more on hand

GOP Gov. Rick Perry and gubernatorial challenger Bill White, a Democrat, both raised around $7 million for their campaigns during the latest reporting period, but White reports having more cash on hand.

Perry raised nearly $7.1 million between Feb. 21 and June 30, his re-election campaign reported today. Perry had nearly $5.9 million cash on hand at the end of that period, the campaign said.

(snip)

A Rasmussen Reports survey released today showed that Perry had the support of 50 percent of likely voters, compared to White’s 41 percent.

They didn't give the Rasmussen margin of error for the poll but you can be sure that it could put Perry under 50% which is a horrible place for an incumbent to be less than 120 days out from the election.

3. The $9 Million Man
Texas Tribune 7/15/10
Bill White Reports $9 Million on Hand at Mid-year

Democrat Bill White hit the mid-year mark with more than $9 million in the bank for his November challenge to Gov. Rick Perry. White raised $7.4 million since his last report, in February, bringing to $16.4 million the amount he's raised since joining the race in early December.

The exact (top-line) numbers: Cash on Hand: $9,045,425.60; raised this period: $7,447,799.33

:woohoo: Good press coverage.

Good enough that Chicken Rick's camp had to spin their problem. Perry had such a tough primary race that he was at a disadvantage over White. :nopity:

6. White has $3 million fund raising edge over Perry
Houston Chronicle 7/15/10
White has $3 million fund raising edge over Perry

AUSTIN — Campaign finance reports released today show Democratic gubernatorial candidate Bill White will enter the general election campaign with $3 million more than incumbent Gov. Rick Perry.

White also held a slight edge on Perry for the amount of money raised since the March primaries. White raised $7.4 million between late February and June 30, while Perry raised a little more than $7 million during that same period of time, according to news releases from both campaigns.

(snip)

But White's financial lead over Perry in this campaign should give the Democrats a psychological edge as the race starts seriously heating up next month.

(snip)
White claimed to have 16,000 donors for the election cycle, while Perry claimed almost 15,000.

We need every psychological advantage we can get on that chickenshit Perry!

7. Bill White beats Rick Perry in fundraising for the latest period
Trailblazers blog Dallas Morning News 7/15/10
Bill White beats Rick Perry in fundraising for the latest period

Democratic challenger Bill White did slightly better than Gov. Rick Perry in campaign fundraising in the latest reporting period. But they both go into the final four months of their gubernatorial campaign with a healthy war chest. White has $9 million in the bank while Perry reports $5.8 million. The Republican governor burned through a lot of campaign cash during the fractious GOP primary against Kay Bailey Hutchison.

The latest period covers money raised since the March primary. White outraised Perry in the counting -- $7.4 million compared with Perry's $7.1 million. The White campaign says 75 percent of its donors gave $100 or less.

I hope to keep seeing those "Bill White beats Rick Perry" headlines all the rest of the year!

Please, please make it so!
