Update: Perry appointee McNutt quits another leadership post after trespassing arrest at SMU
We blogged here a few weeks ago on the man Gov. Rick Perry appointed as chairman of the Texas Commission on the Arts who was arrested after trespassing at SMU.

That's where Bill McNutt III (shown at right) graduated and went on to help organize its Young Alumni Association. Yet in 2008, the prominent alumnus was banned from SMU's campus after the school received multiple student complaints about his behavior, such as "offering alcohol to minors."

Legal Trouble
Bill McNutt has a history of legal trouble. He has been sued by many of his past financial partners. Most recently Dan Paterson sued Bill McNutt and TCPIP for unresolved transgressions.. He was also sued by First American Bank and Dallas County for similar reasons.

Arrest
He was arrested on Feb 15, 2010 at Southern Methodist University's campus for inappropriate contact with underage students. Comments surrounding the incident suggest McNutt has a history of inappropriate sexual behavior.

Gary Gibbs, executive director of the Texas Commission on the Arts, told The Associated Press on Friday, Febuary 26, 2010 that McNutt resigned as commission chairman the day before, but only after the Dallas Morning News broke the story that McNutt had been arrested for repeating a crime for which he had previously received a trespass warning from SMU Campus Police. According to published reports, the 65 year old McNutt III had been detained by SMU Campus Police, in November of 2008, because students filed complaints alleging he offered alcohol to female minors in addition to other violations. The university had issued a criminal trespass warning to McNutt in November 2008 that directed him not to visit campus for any reason, SMU said in a statement. "This action was based on SMU's receipt of multiple student complaints against Mr. McNutt alleging behavior that violates University policy, such as offering alcohol to minors," SMU said in the statement. The university declined to elaborate. SMU spokesman Kent Best said that the school, a private university, does not release arrest reports and would not release the report in this case. It also appears that the arrest resulted in Mr. McNutt released on $500 bail.

Looks like he's a serial pervert!

SMU Alumnus Arrested on Campus for Trespassing

SMU alumnus and Dallas businessman Lee William "Bill" McNutt was arrested by SMU police on Feb. 15 for violating a criminal trespass warning and was later booked at the Lew Sterrett Justice Center, according to Dallas County Jail and SMU Police records.

McNutt was spotted on campus at SMU’s Paul Loyd All Sports Center on Ownby Drive on the day of his arrest.

In a prepared statement, university officials said SMU issued a criminal trespass warning to McNutt in November 2008 "directing him not to visit campus for any reason."

Lovely mug shot of Billy "bad boy" McNutt.
