1. McCaul's district
Edited on Wed Mar-03-10 02:48 PM by northoftheborder
I live in this district; there is a Democrat running for this seat, but he was unopposed in the primary, so wouldn't show up on the poll list. His name is Lorenzo Sadun, a UT professor, very smart and progressive. He ran last time as a ballot write-in, but didn't get anywhere. Maybe this time he'll at least make McCaul show up in Austin. The only time I've seen him (McCaul) on TV is when Stack smacked his plane into the building here, and he showed up to make sure everybody saw that he thought this was an act of terrorism, even though the FBI and the Chief of Police had already catagorized it as not terrorism.

2. I thought that might be the case
But I couldn't find anything evening mentioning a democrat. I wonder how much we can do here in Austin to help Mr. Sadun. I have a feeling his big challenge is going to be Houston though....

3. Ted Ankrum is our candidate
He was unopposed last night in the Democratic primary. Ted is an excellent candidate.

4. Ted did very well four years ago with almost no funding.
He's a very impressive candidate.

I think he got more than 40% of the vote just working on his on.

Seems like I remember the DCCC coming in at the last minute with funds, but it was too late.

5. Yep 4 years ago he drew 40% with hardly any help
2006 results

U. S. Representative District 10
Michael T. McCaul(I) REP 97,726 55.28%
Ted Ankrum DEM 71,415 40.40%
Michael Badnarik LIB 7,614 4.30%
-----------
Race Total 176,755

And that was before http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=180x61434">McCaul pissed away 3,000 jobs in his district (BAE in Sealy)

Hopefully this is the year McCaul joins the ranks of the unemployed.

Go Ted go!
