Disabled Veterans, and HB 3139

If you or any of your friends have Disabled Veterans, Purple Heart, Pearl Harbor Survivor or Medal of Honor Texas license plate, DO NOT USE THE Tx TAG system toll roads unless you want to pay for it.

HB 3139 passed by the last legislation get-together (this past year) gave the OK for a toll project entity to establish a free or discounted program for certain veterans, which took effect Sept. 1, 2009. The wording said that that the toll entity "may establish". Anyway with the wording of "may", the toll people more or less said no or blew it off to free or discounted tolls for certain vets which would of been DV, PH and MOH licence plate holders.
