Perry rips proposed new smog limits
DALLAS — Gov. Rick Perry is ripping the proposed new stricter federal health standards for smog, saying they would kill jobs without improving human health.

Perry has long been a critic of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. He says the agency's ozone standards proposal is based on "flawed science."

1. Of course he's a global warming denier
He's a teabagger! Perry keeps griping about job losses but he won't support new cleaner energy jobs. Those "alleged job losses" he's whining about are in industries that are dead end jobs any way. We can't expect him to think of future energy job creation. That might make his teabagging head explode.

Here is an example of a forward thinker - our Congressman Doggett:
AAS 1/6/10
$4.8M grant will train 1,000 for green-energy jobs

The Central Texas area's green work force is getting a boost from a different kind of green.

U.S. Rep. Lloyd Doggett announced a $4.8 million grant Wednesday to train 1,000 local workers for jobs in the energy efficiency and renewable energy industries.

"Green's the word in Austin, and today greenbacks are on their way to further strengthen our commitment to clean energy," said Doggett, D-Austin. "Green jobs have the ability to not only transform the way we do business, but re-power America; this training will provide workers with the nuts and bolts to construct a thriving clean energy economy right here in Central Texas."

The grant is a significant gain for the region's green work force, as community and business leaders continue to eye plans to grow the sector in Central Texas, which has lost jobs in manufacturing and other key industries in the downturn.

Instead of just whining, Perry should get off his ass and start recruiting and retraining Texans for the new energy future. On second thought, let's just get a new Governor like Bill White and get this green energy economy really going.

2. The hot air emissions would decrease if Perry kept his mouth shut.
