OMFG, are we ready for this?

Carole Keeton Strayhorn, who was twice elected comptroller as a Republican and then ran a losing gubernatorial campaign as an independent, called Democratic Party Chairman Boyd Richie on Tuesday to discuss seeking the party’s nomination for comptroller.

Democratic Party spokeswoman Kirsten Gray confirmed the conversation, which Strayhorn initiated. We don’t know much about what was said.

Why are both Kinky and Carol4Names "suddenly" running as Democrats? These are the two people who cost Chris Bell the Governorship in 2006. Do you think Rs are giving them money to run as Ds to screw things up for us? Just saying.

I don;t see where Carole running for Comptroller screws things up for us. Do we have another viable candidate? There was a story that Nick Lampson was looking at the race, I notice anyone too excited at that prospect. And while I think her loyalties lie only with herself, you really can't deny that she actually is qualified for the office... unlike Kinky, who's just a self-important shithead.

But that's just my opinion. Carole does have a base, but I don't think Combs is such a right wing nut that any moderate Rs would vote for Carole over someone in their own party.

Yes Carole may be "qualified" but it's not like she didn't play politics with the revenue numbers just like every other occupant of that job.

I don't trust her to really be a Democrat and not just a convenient "party" of the year.
