Spiffy new radio station in DFW -- KXT 91.7
Edited on Mon Nov-09-09 05:27 PM by crispini
Aw yeah. Acoustic, alt-country, indie rock, alternative and world music -- lots of local bands too. If you're local, tune 'em in; you can also stream them over the web online at http://kxt.org/

Yay! Dallas radio doesn't suck anymore!

2. Hehehe. You should see the new Arts District.
The Winspear Opera House is the shit. It's truly awesome. The acoustics are amazing. Saw Phillip Glass there a couple of weeks ago. :) And the Wyly theatre isn't bad either.

Of course, we planned it so that all of the good stuff would happen after you left.

How the heck are you girl? You are up in the Canadian wilds somewhere yes?

(Squee... they just played Michelle Shocked and Son Volt and they're going to play Deathray Davies next!)

3. Where is the Arts District?
Curious what it sprang up around.

Yep, we headed north at the end of October (drove through Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana, and Alberta). Took us 5 days! With Fargo and Molly in her carrier in the backseat of a Honda Civic.

We're WAY west of Edmonton. In the boonies. I got sick promptly upon our arrival. Am just now feeling better.

It's going OK, but I can tell I'm going to need to start being more assertive around here. I love my MIL, but it's already starting to wear a bit. Don't keep putting my dog outside without asking me! He's getting filthy, and that's money we'll have to spend to have him groomed. :eyes:

And I HATE well water. I'd forgotten how much. Blegh.

8. Hey friend! Long time no see.
I have been derelict having been sucked into the vortex that is Facebook.

The Arts District ..down by the symphony and the DMA. Last time I was over there the two new venues were still under construction and I did not believe they would have it all ready by October.

But they did. I am looking forward to my first chance to see something in the Wylie and the Winspear.

4. Yep...just when I had given up...
This new radio station pops up.

Sounds cool so far. I'm not big into the local music scene. But I'm glad they're supporting it.

I'm really looking forward to the world music component.

Xela

5. Used to be a Christian talk station that played Bob Larson
I used to tune in to hear Larson perform exorcisms on alleged demoniacs - I did a lot of research on exorcism/deliverance movements in those days, and Larson was basically a fountain for that kind of stuff.

7. I love it. I have enjoyed KERA's talk format but have really missed
the wonderful variety of music they played. Good to have it back!!!
