Perry Sticking It to Texans (Again)--Come on, Teabaggers--This should piss you off
Perry Claims Residence In 2 Places

POSTED: Wednesday, August 12, 2009

AUSTIN -- Gov. Rick Perry lives, works and votes in Austin. But he also claims to be a resident of College Station, Texas, where he owns a house and gets a tax break designed for local homeowners, records obtained by The Associated Press show.

Perry aides said the governor is entitled to claim a house he owns in College Station as his primary residence, even though he lives in a mansion in Austin and is asking voters to keep him in the state capital for the next four years. But after inquiries from The AP late Tuesday, Perry's re-election campaign said he may have to refund some of the tax break he got.

Aides were scrambling Tuesday to figure out whether rent payments that Perry and his wife received for the property would require them to claim a smaller homestead exemption than they would normally get. Perry's daughter, Texas A&M student Sydney Perry, lives in the home and has roommates that pay rent to the family, officials said.

1. Double dipping Perry
He really thinks he's above the rest of us doesn't he? They make such a big deal about teachers who even think of getting both social security benefits and their teacher's pension. They call them frauds and cheats, even though it's legal.

So Perry probably found a loophole too. So let's here him talk his way out of this one.

3. What are the other things?
Enquiring minds want to know. ;-)

I would certainly think the anti-healthcare folks would get upset that Guv Goodhair is taking their tax money to support his lifestyle.

If only he (and the other Republican pigs like him) would pay taxes, maybe the rest of us wouldn't have to pay so much, we could get better schools, fix the potholes, cleanup the pollution (he helped to enable) and get access to better healthcare. My tax dollars shouldn't go to support his family's lifestyle. His salary does that (if he were a true public servant).

8. State parks for one...
Perry has gutted Texas fine state park system to the point of closing them ans selling some off.

We didn't pass a sporting goods tax so Perry could hoard the cash for manipulation and let the parks die off. In truth the legislature could change that, but Perry has said "over my dead body".

The tax we voted in for parks raises over 100m a year, but they have been capped at using only about 25m of it a year. The rest sits in bank accounts for budget manipulation.

Then there's the trans Texas corridor.., that could easily be his undoing as it is very unpopular and he is a main proponent.

The man needs to go, now.. And be replaced by anyone but Kay...

4. Fraud. Rental property cannot be homesteaded.
It's a state jail offense to falsify paperwork.

7. It always amazes me when wealthy people break the law to get a few extra dollars
that don't really mean much to them, financially. It must be in their DNA - to try to wring every extra dollar from everywhere they can, whether legally or illegally.

I guess that's how they got rich. (Nothin' wrong with being rich, BTW. As long as they got that way legally.)
