Police presence reduced outside Bush home

Police have scaled back some of the protection they provide at the home of former President George W. Bush.

TV station KTVT reported Tuesday that three tactical officers stationed for eight-hour shifts each will no longer be on the street outside the former president's north Dallas home. The city will save about $300,000 a year with the change.

Police Chief David Kunkle told the newspaper that the decision on deploying police for security issues doesn't depend on the budget.

Don't blame Dallas a bit. Why should they provide an extra $300,000 a year protection for Bush? He's got protection from his Secret Service already.

1. I'm sure his buddies at Blackwater will be happy to fill in
 Dallas PD. Stop protecting war criminals instead of law-abiding citizens!

2. The right wing response to this report would be
to blame the 'librul' media -- the DMN is a card-carryin' member, donchaknow -- for abetting the 'terrists'. They would not use the word "abet", however.

3. What about small government?
The wingers should be dancing in the streets that Dallas is saving their taxpayers an extra $300,000 a year.

They can't have it both ways. They want to spend unlimited amounts of money on defense but they don't want to pay any taxes. They are so crazy.
