Valero to pay for auto repairs
CORPUS CHRISTI — Valero Energy Co. plans to reimburse about 150 people who had a problem with their fuel pumps after purchasing gas from the company earlier this year.

It also is accepting claims from others who had those same problems.

Valero spokesman Bill Day said Thursday many of the estimated 150 claims being reimbursed came in September, which was about the time local car mechanics noticed an increase in fuel pump replacements.

"We're doing that because we guarantee every gallon of gas that we sell," Day said.

1. At least they are stepping up to the plate.
The Racetrac chain ruined my mother's fuel pump years ago and they did nothing.
