Ick. 2010 is not going to be a fun year for us, methinks. She's popular, and who on earth do we have to head up the ticket?

1. I think we need to enjoy the entertainment, though
Should be a lot of bloodletting on the other side.

Meanwhile... Bill White vs. Kinky in the Democratic primary? It really makes you wonder what's in the water, doesn't it?

2. At this point it looks like a
Kinky - Bill White primary. :puke:

Personally I'd rather move to Louisiana.

But you wanna know what's worse? No identified challengers for any other statewide office with the exception of Agriculture Commissioner, where Hank Gilbert will challenge Todd Staples again. Since Dewhurst and Abbott and Jerry Patterson are all effectively cockblocked from a promotion by Kay Bailout vs. The Rickflopper, who do we have that is going to step up against entrenched Republican incumbents with lots of money in the bank?

:grr: :nuke: :banghead: :argh:

3. Abbott might turn out to be mighty unpopular by 2010
They've blown $1 billion (yes you read that right) on the FLDS fiasco.

5. A big round of thanks for Hank Gilbert
He's one damn fine Texan with a lot of backbone.

4. I do love that Goodhair called her Kay Bailout.
I love when Republicans have primary fights. :7

I hope y'all get a good candidate. I like Noriega again, especially if Obama nominates him to a gig where he can shine.

6. Well if Obama promotes him, he won't be running in Texas
We do need to build up the farm team though. We have very few stars right now.

7. Yeah - maybe he should wait to see if KBH wins.
Try to win that special, maybe.

A by-product of lots of losing is lack of name power. We should have been building at the low levels the last few years, like the GOP did.

8. Sen. Bighair.
I lived in TX from 1983 - 2000, and witnessed the disintegration of TX politics. The best governor ever (Ann Richards) was defeated by the worst governor ever (Idiot-Boy Bush). Things went down hill from there. I really sympathize with you!!! Good luck in finding some viable candidates! Hang in there, and remember that things can only get better!!!!!:hi: :dem:

9. Welcome to DU Texas forum, PeachySue1957!
We're not giving up honey. If there is one thing Texas Democrats have is thick skin and hard hardheadedness. My motto is never give up and never surrender. We'll turn this state blue one day, and it will happen within the next 5-10 years.

:hi:

10. Right on, sonias!
The state that gave us Molly Ivins, Ann Richards, Sam Rayburn, Ladybird Johnson, Dan Rather, Linda Ellerbee can't stay red forever.
