2. AAS endorses "mere obstructionist in a Senate"

Surprise, surprise.

Here's a bit of their tortured logic.

At times, though, Cornyn seemed little more than an agent of the Bush administration. He hit a low point in 2005, when, amid Republican frustration over getting confirmation of some Bush judicial nominees, Cornyn gave a Senate speech in which he suggested that some recent episodes of courthouse violence had been triggered by frustration "in some quarters" that judges were "making political decisions yet are unaccountable to the public." He later downplayed those remarks.

And it's no wonder why we pronounce AAS as ASS. :grr:

4. Noriega - a strong, respected voice

It will be especially important for Texans to have a strong, respected voice inside the expected Democratic majority in the Senate. Rick Noriega offers such a voice, with a distinctive Lone Star tone and perspective. The Chronicle endorses Noriega for the U.S. Senate seat now held by Republican John Cornyn.

Now that's what I call an endorsement! Put Corndog out to pasture - his time has passed.
