Bridge City, Texas took on a lot of damage from Ike
Most of my extended family lives in Bridge City, one family lives in Pt Acres.

Bridge City was heavily flooded. The family that lives there all the homes were flooded up to the roof line. My whole family evacuated so they're safe. They know as of now it'll be at least 3 weeks before they'll be able to go back, except the men that work in the refineries, they'll go back as soon as they're called.

Please keep them in your prayers and send good thoughts to them.

I'm so sorry for the damage to their homes and city.

I hope they get through this quickly. I send prayers and hopes for them to recover quickly.

3. Thanks Sonia
It's tough just thinking what all was lost in my grandfather's house. :(

They're still not letting people into Bridge City at all.

7. I'll send you a virtual hug
I know it's tough to lose valuable heirlooms and family records. None of this hurricane destruction is good. You have to stay positive especially for your grandfather. The most important thing is that your family is well. Keep the faith.

5. Mom got out of Orange County OK
Scared but not flooded or damaged. Could have been much, much worse.

Best to you and yours, Tammy.

6. Thanks PDittie
And good luck to your mom too.

One aunt said a neighbor looked in their house and it's still got about a foot of water in it...and sewage. She said he said it smelled something awful.
