lived in Houston. I was thinking '79mph in Dallas?' You stay safe yourself. We'll be boarding up/picking up today.

 My sister in law that stayed with us during Gustav called me earlier this afternoon to say they were already feeling winds and some of the parishes were already getting some tidal surge.

16. dg, wishing your brother a safe watch
I know some people have to be the caretakers and your brother is doing his job. I hope he has an uneventful watch.

14. Thanks for that post
We are hunkering down here. Don't want to leave. I don't think the winds will get that high unless it is a cat 4+.

21. I haven't been watching so much today
The winds are starting to sway the 50-foot pines a lot. No rain yet, but lots of squally wind, gusting up to about 25-30. I think I'll go take a nap. Doubt we will sleep through this one in the wee hours.

10. Thank you for the info
Edited on Thu Sep-11-08 07:20 PM by tbyg52
Closest one to mine is 77478 (Sugar Land; we are in Richmond). I guess whether it would be more or less here depends on where it hits. Sugar Land said 73.

Edited to add:

90! Yikes! Best wishes to you!

(Actually, wishes for us both that it changes course, selfish as that sounds.... :-( )

They were talking about this site on one of the news channels. It is a good site.

Is there an equivalent site for Fort Bend County?

I hope their home is okay. I'm sure they evacuated.
