Tejano Dems Speaker supports W not Kerry
Through an email list I am on, I found out that Patrick Lyndon Nugent will be a featured speaker at the Tejano Democrats meeting this week. Knowing what I do about Mr. Nugent's political leanings, I found this to be a bit "interesting," to say the least. Sure enough, on opensecrets.org, his political donations show up. I've edited out the donations to his friends & uncle.

NUGENT, LYNDON MR

AKIN GUMP STRAUSS ET. AL./ATTORNEY

I also found a couple of hits on Google:

I have no issue with Mr. Nugent should he decide to run for office as a Republican, but if he wants to cash in on his grandfather's legacy & run as a Dem, well, all bets should be off.

1. Good searchin, sweetie!
This needs to go to the Austin Chronicle, the Dallas Observer, and any other independent local papers we can get it to, then push it to the bigstream media.

Who do we know in the Tejano Democrats? johncoby? sonias? Anybody? Anyone willing to run with this?

We'll still be recovering financially from our Halloween party. Have to see if we can swing it!

4. this is the first I've seen of this
I'm not going to the event but I agree we need to get the word out. How in the hell did this guy end up as honorary chair of the "Take Back Texas" campaign? http://www.takebacktexas.com/

He sounds like another Tony Sanchez. He only finds his Democrat credentials when it suits him.

Patrick Lyndon Nugent
may have known LBJ
and even have his DNA
but he is in no way
a Democrat.

I knew that Charles Robb (Lynda's husband) was a Democrat. I guess that this grandson's dad Pat Nugent (Lucie's ex-husband) was the repuke in the family. Just guessing. I just know Lucie divorced him, probably a repuke family values thing. Was Pat Nugent a cheater?

I'll tell everyone I know.

thanks for the research Wolverine

5. lbj's son-in-law wtf???
What do LBJ and Cheney have in common? Brown and Root, now Halliburton.

For years LBJ was known as the senator from Brown and Root.

Maybe Mr Nugent is continuing in the family business.

Did he marry Lucy Bird?

i guess he's taking after his dad. maybe he senses a change in the wind & now wants to be a dem after at least a decade of not supporting dems financially or morale-wise.

7. You know what someone needs to do...
Edited on Wed Oct-13-04 08:35 AM by fudge stripe cookays
is go up to him with a printed copy of that opensecrets page, while reporters are around, and ask him...

"Mr Nugent, what do you have to say to your detractors who accuse you of donating to the campaign of Mr. Bush? He is a Republican president. And you are here addressing a Democrat crowd. What is your explanation for that, sir?"

I would give my right arm for the look on his face.
