Do the SD conventions need to be in football stadiums
If they were anything like the caucus it could get crowded. In SD16 I think I read we have 200 precincts, Our 65% republican precinct will send a motivated 19 delegates and 19 or so alternates to the SD convention, multiply that by 200 and you get 7600 people, In 06, the only SD convention I've attended alternates and delegates were allowed to attend, will it be different this time

1. Yes they are looking for very large venues
Travis is meeting at the Travis Expo Center. That's sort of a stadium. I think the alternates will still be able to go to the convention. They really have to be there in case, one of th voting delegate slots opens up. Just like at the state convention the voting badges will only be issued to the delegates. That's the part they're going to keep real tight control of.
