Wendy Davis candidacy for TX senate district 10 challenged.
Wendy Davis' eligibility to run for senate was challenged late Monday. Ms Davis resigned from the Ft Worth city council last month but city rules say she must retain the seat until a replacement is sworn in. Because of the runoff for her council seat her replacement will not be sworn in until 6 days after the filing deadline for senate. State law says she cannot run for one office while holding another.

The complaint has been forwarded to the TX Secretary of State for a decision.

What a bunch of shit.

1. What state law are we talking about here?
Lots of people run for one office while holding another. Just off the top of my head, in 2006 Comptroller Carole Fournames ran for Governor, Ag Commissioner Susan Combs ran for Comptroller, and State Senator Todd Staples ran for Ag Commissioner.

2. we were over at Tarrant Co Headquarters for blackeye peas and petition signing
The replacement was sworn in today, or so we were told. Heard it from Lon Burnam.

lots of Democratic attorneys have stepped up to run for some judgeships, finally challenging the formerly unopposed Republicans! We signed 6 pr 7 petitions and met another Dem who lives on our street!
