Strayhorn, Friedman headed for November ballot
It's official we have a 5 way race. Only in Texas!

AAS article 6/23
Texas voters trolling for change have placed independent gubernatorial candidates Kinky Friedman and Carole Keeton Strayhorn on the November ballot, making the humorist-singer and state comptroller the first independent hopefuls on the statewide ballot since Sam Houston in 1859.

They will vie against GOP Gov. Rick Perry, Democratic nominee Chris Bell and Libertarian Party choice James Werner, constituting the longest list of governor hopefuls since 1974.

1. When will they decide on names
Grand mal Strayhorn? and Dick Friedman? Yeah, I said it and I meant it as a verb not an adjective. Active voice imperative mood. (My English teacher would be proud that I remembered that from 40 yrs ago!)

2. But NO Stockman in the 22nd!!!
Steve Stockman failed to secure the necessary signatures to run for congress in the 22nd, against Nick Lampson. Funny thing is, when Stockman was the congressman from the old district along the Gulf, Nick beat him and now it looks like Lampson will be defeating the "gentleman" from Virginia/northern California (or DeLay's hand-picked puppet).

3. gentleman?
That description should never be used for DeLay. He is a vile, corrupt, self serving, lying, egotistical, maniacal, law breaking, money laundering, manipulative, hypocrite and thief.

I'm eagerly awaiting the Sam Sparks decision on Monday. I hope the carpet bagger from some northern part of some state he's not sure of, actually has to fulfill his promise to the people of his district and run.

I am sorry to hear the Greens did not make the ballot though.

5. I hope he doesn't rule on Monday
I hope he thinks it over for a week or two and writes a long complicated decision that begs for an appeal. Time is on our side!

I know we all want to see the Republicans get a swift kick in the teeth, but a slow torturous adjudication would prolong our glee and their suffering. What could be better than that!

7. Oh I want them to suffer a slow agonizing torture
But Sparks is going to rule on Monday. We're pretty sure of that. He's going to be prepared and he's going to issue the ruling Monday.

The slow, agonizing torture will come when the repukes realize they have to defend DeLay all the way through November.

ha ha ha
