The lovely Carol, of "Gary Page and Carol" fame runs Tassie's Hope, a local dog rescue, and sent out this e-mail a day or so ago. PM me if you think you might be able to help with these Am Staffs, and I can get the message to her....

We need a miracle for two older (8 & 10 yrs) trained Dogs whose owner abandoned them. Female is spayed, male is not. Neither one has seen a vet in years. The owner lost his home and disappeared a few weeks ago after living without electricity and water for year. These are nice Dogs and they are Am Staffs.

They are currently staying with a gentleman who knows the guy who lost his house, he also knows the two Dogs. The guy went missing about two weeks ago. The gentleman went and moved the Dogs to his private garage and is feeding them. He called a friend of Tassie's Hope to ask for help. The owner of the rent house where the Dogs were abandoned was going call animal control today and have them put down. Because this gentleman knows the Dogs and knows how nice and well behaved they are, he did something compassionate and moved them. Now he has a situation where the Dogs are in an un-air-conditioned building. He said they had lived without electricity for the past year so are used to the heat.
