Austin Training - 21st Century Dems

Is anybody else going to this training in Austin?

Our Democratic Club voted to pay for our officers to go, and then a whole bunch of other club members signed-up to go, too. We're going over on Friday night and staying through Sunday.

21st Century Dems have been doing this all over the county, but Texas and San Francisco were left to the end!

It will be nice to meet you. I heard at the DTF meetup that the training is now full. They aren't taking any more applications. They have 400 participants from 100 different cities coming. Yeah! Also heard that Howard Dean will be here on Sunday for a small rally. That rally is open to the public and free, but it will be held at the Huston-Tillotson College at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday the 22nd. So make sure you bring cool clothing too since that part will be outside. Howard is coming to Texas to help Richard Morrison that weekend and just making a quick stop in Austin.

Due to health reasons I won't be there for all the sessions, but my husband, son, and several friends will be. We will probably be wearing Fort Bend Demcorats tee-shirts!

We can wear name tags. Not that I have anything against hollering mind you. I can get hoarse with the best of us. I'm just not sure what kind of set up they'll have. They may break us up into smaller group sessions and we trade off each day or something like that. Of course at the rally we can holler. I hope we do still get to meet you Brazosboomer but do take care of yourself.

Richardo, one of very own DU members on this board, made us these great name tags for the state convention and I bet anyone who wants one can get one from him. Or I could make them too. It's a MS Word file he sent me and can edit it for a name. They look pretty cool, they have the DU logo and everything. Maybe if I can scan mine I'll put up a pic.

I should have tried to reschedule my Pro-Choice party, but it was really important to me, and my county chair and I agreed on that date ahead of time.

And I went to a couple of these types of things in the Dean campaign anyway.

Everyone have a great time, learn lots of great stuff, and come back to kick some ass!

I'm with NoPasaran on this one, I've signed up to see Esther's Follies too. The Follies are "promising us they’ll be even heavier on political humor than usual just for us". Well this I have to see.

That's Saturday night, so maybe we could meet after the show or before the show. I guess it depends on how long a show they're going to give us.

Kerry / Edwards yardsigns signs? We got 500 corplast yardsigns and 50 4X4 foot signs two weeks ago. However, I hear that some people are having trouble getting their's. Our group just went ahead and bought some because people were hounding us.

We also have bumper stickers and buttons if anyone needs some. We're selling them for $1.00 a piece.
