here are the agenda highlights: Thursday - preliminary committee meetings for rules, resolutions, platform, credentials beginning at 9 am at the Hilton Hotel. At 2 pm there is a SDEC meeting. From 6 - 8 pm there is the Kick-off Reception, Hilton Hotel. Tickets are $50, $35 if you are a sustaining member. After 8, there will be various parties and hospitality suites. ON Friday, workshops and caucuses begin at 9 am at the convention center. You may pick up your credentials from 10 am to 2:45 pm in the lobby of the convention center. We will do two important items of business at this caucus - chose our delegates to the five convention committees and chose our SDEC members, one male and one female. Anyone who wants to run may. It is by self-nomination. The credential committee will meet Friday evening, the rest of us will go to the convention mail hall for opening formalities, election of permanent convention officers and keynote speeches. That is expected to last to about 10. If we have not finished our work in the caucus, we will go back to work. If we have, we will go party - Chris Bell is having one at The Ashton Depot, 1501 Jones St., two blocks southeast of the Convention Center. They promise plenty of food and drink, plus live music from Wayne "The Train" Hancock. There will be other parities too. Saturday morning: Committees meet at 8 am. Blue Star breakfast at 8:30. Workshops, more caucuses at 9:30. At 11, the convention reconvenes. We will elect state party officers and vote on committee reports.
