Can anyone help a friend of mine gather Strayhorn's anti-Democrat quotes?
Edited on Fri Jun-02-06 03:18 PM by Czolgosz
A friend whose moderate Republican parents are torn between Bell and Strayhorn directed me to the insightful analysis of Dean Rindy on Strayhorn and the Governor's race (here <http://www.political.com/analysis-arc/0615.html>). She specifically asked about this part of Rindy's analysis:

Carole Strayhorn's "image as an independent is much weaker than Perot’s, and it will be extremely easy to discredit her with Democratic voters. This is a woman whose announcement speech opened with the words, “I am a Republican,” and closed with “I love George Bush.” Her son, Scott, is Bush’s chief flack. Buried in news archives around Texas are rich troves of nasty quotes she has delivered about Democrats in very recent years. And she has an additional problem. Strayhorn cannot use this year’s most effective issue--the culture of corruption in the Republican machine, because she’s been part of it herself."

She wants to show her parents that Strayhorn is definitely not nonpartisan and is, to the contrary, a bit of a nasty partisan. Her question to me, which I could use y'all's help with, is:

What are some examples of the "rich troves of nasty quotes she has delivered about Democrats in very recent years"?

Any help would be appreciated.

2. Welcome to DU sultan
And even as a foreigner you are welcome to both DU and to the Texas forum. We Democrats are not the dominant party in Texas yet, but we are rebuilding. And as to why we are bigger (more messages) than CA, that's because we like to talk a lot in Texas.

:hi:

3. Good to know that there are southern demos

I don’t know why I kept believing that if a person has a southern accent then he/she must be conservative republican although it is silly to group people but that how I was thinking
