Cover the Uninsured Week events in Texas!
http://covertheuninsured.org/events/?StateID=TX

Here are some of the events taking place in Texas... there are many more! I just picked a few to give as examples!

In the United States, an estimated 45 million people are without health insurance. Census Bureau data show that 5,583,000 people are uninsured in our state of Texas. Join us to help raise awareness of the issue of the uninsured.

Galveston
Galveston May 4, 2006 Interfaith Event
UTMB's Center to Eliminate Health Disparities & the Office for Community Outreach is sponsoring our 2nd annual prayer breakfast for faith leaders in Galveston County. The focus of the event is to raise awareness about the uninsured/underinsured in Galveston, and to recognize the critical support that religious leaders provide to their congregants when they are faced with the consequences of being uninsured/underinsured. Representative Garnet Coleman will speak at the event and local social and medical service providers will have displays with resource information that faith leaders can share with their congregants.
