Wanted: Math Teachers & Professors
The Texas State Board of Education (SBOE) will conduct a review of proposed math textbooks for grades 6-12 this year. The Texas Freedom Network will monitor this process throughout it's lifespan. The Texas Education Agency is currently accepting nominations for it's math textbook review panels. If you would care to participate, please contact the OP.

1. What's the OP?
Thanks, acmejack. I do know some math professors that might like to participate. But forgive my ignorance, can you tell me what the OP is?

2. That's me!

I have all the contact information! I didn't want any obnoxious freeploids harvesting it. Some of mine has appeared in some of the most interesting places! I would hate to do that to any of these nice people, they'd absolutely die.

on edit it means original poster. Just pm and I'll send you the info or I'll email you the goodies. This is a really great opportunity for someone knowledgeable in the field.

3. I can't PM
b/c I don't have enough messages yet x(

However, I think I can find the information. If I can't, I'll just tell one of the professors who chairs the math department where he works and he can ask a staff member to find the information.

Thanks a bunch!

5. Thanks!
Yeah, it'd be kinda hard to contest the unit circle but you never know;-)

However, I think that the quality of the text books is very important and this might be one of the reasons that Texas public schools have such a low number of students who excel in mathematics. I had a Geometry text book that was written so well that the teacher was just a decoration to me but my Algebra II text book was so poorly written that I had to rely heavily upon my father, an engineer, when I had homework. I'd never asked for his help with mathematics before then. The next year when I took trigonometry and elementary analysis I was able to do my homework without his help thanks to better text books.
