I've just been online getting quotes on moving options. Probably end up doing it the same old way that we always say we'll never do again: rental truck. Since this is all falling together on the spur of the moment, it is going to cost big time. But that's the way we always do it.
It just wouldn't do for us to be able to arrange these things like maybe a few months in advance. That would be so boring. Cheap and boring. Besides, it would seem so ... well... planned.
Melodie (Ms. Ashling) is flying to Austin next Saturday. I'll stay here with Abby (daughter Ashling) who is going to Boston with the Washington delegation. She will be a page for them at the convention. She gets back on the 31st, so she and I and Patches (feline Ashling) will probably head down that way in a big ass ol' truck soon thereafter.
Its funny. Just 3 years ago we were doing this the other way. Melodie got a job with the State of Washington so we came up here in a Ryder truck.
We were actually fixin to (it'll be nice to say "fixin to" without some smart ass cracking off, but I digress) leave our motel in Rock Springs, Wyoming. When I saw the plane crash into the first tower on the Today Show. We got the last room in Boise, Idaho that night, because all the planes were grounded and there's a regional airport there.
I guess I better let Tom Ridge know. I'm sure he'll want to issue another specifically non-specific warning that there could possibly maybe be a terr'ist attack when we leave.
