Faulkner to step down as University of Texas president

University of Texas at Austin President Larry Faulkner reportedly plans to leave his post next year.

The 60-year-old administrator is expected to announce his decision Thursday at the Main Building on the UT campus.

His decision is not a surprise. He has stated before that he was pondering retirement.

Faulkner is the third-longest serving president in UT history and has raised more than $1.5 billion through his capital campaign.
